Points to Ponder
Courtesy of Lars Petersen.
From a very interesting training presentation, I am going to write down the points that stayed in my mind for you to think about in relation to your own training.
1 Forwardness- make the hind leg work to the front, to a waiting hand.
2 Shoulder- in creates collection and leg yield opens the movement so, use both.
3 Straighten all horses to make them ambidextrous.
4 When there is a tendency to dwell, the rider should loosen the thigh and think quarters out. To quicken the canter, work “forward and back”
5 Finally and interesting phrase! “Hurry up slower.”
Ride forwards but build slower.
