End of summer
Summer seems to be moving on, and it has been a busy one.
I spent two days at the Oxted and Edenbridge show, depite the damp weather, and it was good to watch all the different disciplines and to appreciate good horses and a lot of good horsemanship. It was also a time to catch up with friends that I had not seen all year.
The National Championships this weekend finish off the dressage summer competition season, and the Eventing followers have just enjoyed Burghley Horse Trials and the very wet European Championships at Blair Castle, where the Germans reigned supreme and we managed to hold on to the silver medal. Considering how big the competition was, with our Queen in attendance, there was not one mention of our success on any news or sports news programme.
A lot of riders will now be taking a well earned rest, with a break for the horses, before the serious training starts again
